Im Starterfeld finden wir unter anderem NHUPC Gewinner Chris Ferguson, die ehemaligen NHUPC Gewinner Phil Hellmuth und Paul Wasicka, WSOP Main Event Gewinner Doyle Brunson und Johnny Chan. Weltklasse Spieler Daniel Negreanu und Phil Ivey, der von den Spielern als Favorit gehandelt wurde befinden sich ebenfalls im Teilnehmerfeld. Ivey wurde seiner Favoritenrolle nicht gerecht , sondern verlor bereits in runde 2 gegen Vanessa Rousso , die somit in Runde 3 einzog.
Die ersten 2 Runden sind bereits gespielt – der US$ 500′000 Gewinn ist für die verbleibenden 16 Spieler in greifbare Nähe gerückt. Jetzt wird in 4 Gruppen, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs und Spades, gespielt – heads up – der Verliere scheidet aus, bis nur noch die letzten 2 für’s Finale übrig sind!
Die nächste Runde wird am Sonntag 19.00 PT auf NBC übertragen. Jeder Spieler, der Runde 3 übersteht erhält garantiert $ 25′000 !

Heads-Up Poker Championship
Its back, the battle of the best…The NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship has returned to television featuring 64 Poker Pros going head-to-head in a single-elimination bracket poker tournament.
Among those in the starting field are defending NHUPC champion Chris Ferguson, former NHUPC winners Phil Hellmuth and Paul Wasicka, former WSOP Main Event champions Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan, Also, added to the line up were world-class pros Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey who was players picks to win the whole tournament but their predictions were shattered by round 2 where Vanessa Rousso eliminated Ivey for them the tournaments and advanced herself to round 3!
With the first two rounds over already and down to the sweet 16 the US$500,000 is that much closer for the pros that remain. Player are broken into 4 brackets, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs and Spades where they will play heads up eliminating each other one by one until the final 2 remain!
The next round of play is scheduled to resume this Sunday at 7pm PT on NBC to play through Round 3. Everyone finishing during this round is guaranteed $25,000 in cash for their participation.
